About this notice

DM Cleaner — Bulk Delete Instagram Messages is a browser extension developed by Vladyslav Verbytskyi, an individual software developeras part of CleanMySocial. CleanMySocial is a product name, not a separate company or legal entity. It works on Instagram. This notice explains exactly what the extension accesses and where that data goes.

Data the extension accesses

  • 01

    For the selected conversation: thread and message identifiers, sender status, message type, participant display details, and timestamps needed to identify your sent messages and apply date filters. This stays in the extension workflow.

  • 02

    Instagram sign-in status and the cookies and request headers needed to communicate directly with Instagram. CleanMySocial does not receive them.

  • 03

    Temporary cleanup progress, the successful-unsend count for the current local calendar day, and review preferences stored locally in Chrome.

  • 04

    A randomly generated license identifier sent to CleanMySocial only to purchase, validate, or restore access. It contains no Instagram account information.

  • 05

    The extension does not collect, save, export, or transmit Instagram message content, usernames, profile names, cookies, tokens, or request headers.

Permissions & why they are needed

storage

Stores temporary cleanup progress, the daily successful-unsend count, review preferences, and a validation cache. The anonymous license key is stored in Chrome sync so it can follow you to another signed-in Chrome browser.

webRequest

Reads the Instagram request headers required to make authenticated requests through your existing session. It does not block or redirect traffic, and the headers are never sent to CleanMySocial.

webNavigation

Detects Instagram in-page navigation so the side panel stays synchronized with the open conversation.

tabs

Finds the active Instagram tab, opens the product page when you choose to purchase, and keeps the side panel synchronized.

cookies

Checks Instagram sign-in status and uses your existing session. Cookies are not modified or sent to CleanMySocial.

sidePanel

Displays conversation controls, filters, confirmations, cleanup progress, inline review and allowance notices, and license options beside Instagram.

scripting

Runs each confirmed unsend request inside the selected Instagram tab.

Network access

Scans the selected conversation and sends confirmed unsend requests directly to Instagram. Instagram data is not sent to CleanMySocial.

Opens the DM Cleaner product page, validates a randomly generated license identifier, and sends privacy-filtered technical crash reports. No Instagram content, credentials, cookies, request headers, profile details, or license key is included in crash reports.

Good to know

  • The free allowance is 50 successful unsends per local calendar day. If you choose to open the Chrome Web Store review page, the allowance increases to 100. Scanning does not use the allowance.
  • Lifetime access is a one-time purchase processed by Creem. The product has no recurring subscription.
  • Automatic crash reports contain only the extension version, workflow source, stable error details, locale, and platform; they exclude Instagram and license data.
  • Unsend is permanent and applies only to messages sent by your own account.
  • The extension contains no advertising or behavioral analytics.

Payments

Paid plans are processed by Creem, our Merchant of Record. Creem collects and handles your payment and billing details; we receive only a transaction record and a license identifier and never see your full card details.

Sharing, storage & deletion

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share the content you access through the extension with anyone. Purchase data is shared with Creem solely to process payments.

Operational settings and progress described above are kept in Chrome extension storage on your device. Uninstalling the extension removes its local storage; Chrome may retain values stored in sync according to your Chrome sync settings. We retain purchase and license records only as long as needed to provide access, handle refunds or disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal or accounting requirements.

Security, children & changes

We use reasonable safeguards for the limited license and purchase data we process. The extension is not directed to children under 13. If this policy changes, the revised text and date will be published on this page.
